News from the construction site – The March update

March was marked by various testing and coordination processes. Several plant areas are undergoing tests and inspections to ensure that the individual sections are properly connected and that processes run safely.

Additional work planned at the substation

During ongoing inspections, the need for adjustments was identified in the substation area. The planned work concerns the technical design of individual components and is scheduled for May. The goal is to increase the long-term operational reliability of the electrical connection.

Fine-tuning in the gas treatment plant has begun

Central technical preparations in the gas treatment plant are now well advanced. Following the complete installation and cabling of the systems, so-called loop checks are now underway. During this process, all measurement and control connections are checked individually: Tests are conducted to verify that signals are transmitted correctly and that all components communicate with each other as intended.

These tests are an important intermediate step to ensure that the plant can be operated reliably and safely in the future.

Hydrogen pipeline remains in stable condition

The pipeline, which will transport hydrogen in the future, remains pressurized with hydrogen. This method protects the pipeline during the current project phase while also enabling continuous monitoring. Regular tests continue to show stable results and confirm that the pipeline is in perfect condition.

Preparations for the next operational phase are underway

The step-by-step preparation of the electrolysers for future operation is also continuing. The first sections of the plant have already been flushed with a special liquid, known as a flushing solution, to remove residues from the systems and create optimal conditions for future use.

Further mechanical tests under realistic conditions will follow in the coming weeks. At the same time, preparations are being made for the on-site operations team to work in shifts so they can oversee the next steps around the clock.
