The energy crisis has highlighted the vulnerability of our prosperity, but also the potential for decarbonisation. This potential must now be utilised, as time is running out: Both climate change and the fierce competition for the green key markets of the future require a determined sprint. Industrialised society is in a race to transform itself into a climate-neutral value chain.

Exactly two years after the last general election, it is time for a critical stock-taking. What has been achieved, what needs to be done now? These questions require answers from society as a whole. All responsible stakeholders from politics, civil society, business and science are called upon to play a constructive role in the search for solutions.

The BDI Climate Congress is the platform for dialogue on transformation. It is one of the most important conferences on the future of industrial society in Germany and will take place in Berlin on 15 October 2024.
